Como Lake

The limited extension of the territory should not be misleading as few other Italian localities offer such a variety of environmental, landscape and human settlement tipologies.

In just a few kilometres one can go from high mountains to the lakeside, from wild alpine valleys to hill-tops, from urban areas to small remote hamlets, from a wildlife oasis to ski-slopes. 

Hares, pheasants, deer, chamois, steinbock, birds of prey populate these valleys still in a perfect state of conservation.

Very small villages with rows of characteristic stone houses come one after the other along the lake side and world famous localities known for their beauty.

These are lake localities that maintain that sound charm which made them a sure stop-over for those refined visitors who crossed the Alps in order to visit Italy. 

Set at the foot of the great mountains, the Lake of Como and of Lugano and the valleys that merge with them are characterized by the beauty of the surrounding landscape and by the continuous renewal of colours and atmosphere during the changing months.

This atmosphere one feels is even more surprising because it is so unusual considering the geographic position of the area.

Lake of Lugano

the lake of Lugano has irregular shape and a depth of 288 meters. along its shores there are marvellous spots.
the air is light, there are no factories, all is like old time, when with boats you went along the lake, its italian and swiss part. You might admire Oria and the wonderful Villa Fogazzaro, with its roof garden with two floors, the lemon trees and the olea fragrans: a little ancient world of Franco, Luisa and Ombretta, in a Valsolda which is always admired by the modern tourist.

the most important city is Lugano, in the switzerland site. this part is the most modern. the blue colours are all over between sky and lake, in a green setting.
